Did you wake up on your Prom day or Wedding day only to find a giant zit on your face?
Stress is a bitch!
As you watched in the video, stress raises cortisol levels in our bodies, which puts us into Fight or Flight mode.
What does that actually mean?
Cortisol is a stress hormone. Once Adrenaline has been activated, Cortisol begins to increase sugars in the body, reduces our immune system and suppresses our digestion.
The good news is that once our “threat” goes away, the body returns to it’s normal state.
Unfortunately, Americans are so stressed out right now that our bodies aren’t returning back to normal.
This puts us at risk of other health conditions.
But most importantly, it results in bad skin.
Nooooooo!!!
What can we do?
Step 1. Review videos from Day 1 & 2 about how to reduce stress from your holidays by creating simple to-do lists and doing 1 small task daily so you won’t feel so overwhelmed this Holiday season.
Step 2. Start meditating! This isn’t for everyone, but you can find simple 5 minute meditations on YouTube.
I also just found this app, called “Insight Timer” and you can select the type of meditation and the length of time you want to meditate for!
It’s really cool.
Step 3. Be Grateful. I know life is stressful right now, it is for everyone. Take 5 minutes before bed to write down everything in your life that is wonderful!
Don’t know what to say?
Start with 3 small things, such as “My kids were good in the grocery store today” or “My boss complimented me at work”
As you get more comfortable, challenge yourself to dig deep and find what you’re truly blessed to have in your life.
I bet you can write down at least 10 things every single night!
Doing simple, but easy tasks every single day will help keep you stress-free and zit-free this holiday season
