Our skin is the largest organ of our bodies!
Do you really know WHAT the skin’s main purpose really is?
To block out harmful stuff from our environment & to protect our delicate internal organs.
Yes our muscles & bones do that too, but our skin is our body’s defense mechanism.
Without it, everything would enter.
Why on earth does the media have us believing that all these chemicals we put on our skin are actually getting in via the skin?
Here’s a great pic of our skin and note the arrows are pointing UP!
Yes that’s right UP!
Let me ask you this…
Do you sweat?
Does your skin get oily?
Great, mine does too. This means that it comes OUT of our skin and ends up just sitting on our skin’s surface until we wash our face or wipe off the sweat.
Does the oil or sweat get back in our skin or bodies?
Why would products do that?
Our skin is smart, actually one of the smartest organs (besides our brain & gut) and knows exactly how to protect us from harmful items.
Today, I want to bust the myth about all this stuff getting into our skin and talk about the fact that yes it’s in our bloodstream, but have you thought maybe it’s getting in via our mouth?
Yep the foods we eat are highly processed & full of chemicals, the SAME chemicals that are in all these skin care products too!
The ONLY way for stuff to get into our bodies is via our mouth and nose. So if the same chemicals are in our foods, wouldn’t it make sense that’s how it ends up in our bloodstream?
I’m not saying to start using skin care products full of chemicals because that’s silly.
What I am saying is that we really need to re-think the way we look at our skin.
Want to hear a great example?
Go sit in either a pool or bath. Just sit there for 10 minutes.
Now look at your hands. What happened?
Your palms look like prunes!
What about the rest of your skin?
There’s my proof. If our skin absorbed things (like water), wouldn’t our whole body look like our hands?
Hopefully this got your attention, because I’m so tired of everyone telling us that our skin is absorbing everything.
I know the chemicals are damaging and causing our skin’s barrier to lose it’s effectiveness and not function as properly.
The result = inflamed skin, accelerated aging and skin sensitivity.
Why all the misinformation?
Unfortunately there are way too many so-called beauty experts out there online promoting certain things that they really have little knowledge in.
After 15 years as a licensed esthetician, I have done extensive educational training and became an author and speaker.
Why? This is something I’m VERY passionate about and YOU need to hear this information.
You need a trusted source of knowledge and education.
The industry is flooded with so much information that consumers are over-spending their hard-earned money and products are being wasted sitting in your bathrooms because these products are either too strong, don’t do what they promised or just don’t work for your skin.
You buy stuff because you read online that it’s a miracle product for XYZ skin problem, but again, didn’t turn out to be, so you stopped using it and it now collects dust in your bathroom.
Money spent and time wasted, once again.
Understanding HOW your skin functions and works is crucial! Once you understand this, you can then select products that you know will work for your specific skin’s needs.
This allows you to save both time and money because 1) you’ll only be using what you need and 2) skin care should be simple!
The end result = saving time and money on skin care products.
Your skin begins to look good, which means you’re happier & more confident. When you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, you can tackle any challenge in life that you never thought was possible.
