Americans are the unhealthiest people in the WORLD!
What we are consuming & putting in our bodies is literally making us sick. To make matters worse, our skin is suffering the consequences of our poor diets.
We are suffering from more skin problems today than ever and these problems include Acne, Rosacea, Skin Sensitivity, Dehydrated skin, Melasma and damaged skin barriers.
These days, this type of skin is considered “normal” which is crazy & scary at the same time.
When I was in esthetician school 15 years ago, when dealing with problem skin, it was usually teenagers or early 20-somethings and women after 40 suffering from aging, sun spots and the occasional breakouts.
Now EVERYONE is suffering from breakouts & problem skin!
Why?
It’s the foods we are eating and what we are putting into our bodies that is causing more harm than we think.
Even if we are eating healthy, we are still consuming hidden bad foods that are making us unhealthy, even if we don’t look unhealthy!
First things first, we need to do a gut-check and figure out what we are eating that is causing us to become unhealthy!
I’m going to share my story with you…
After my daughter was born in 2012, I held onto a few extra pounds in my belly that hung over my pants & always made me look “pregnant”.
When she was just under 1 year, I did a 14-day cleanse that eliminated all of the bad foods from my diet and was able to lose the rest of my baby weight and cleared up my acne at the same time.
Once the cleanse was over, I noticed that even though I was being MOSTLY good about my diet & exercising regularly, my belly was coming back.
I have always big into exercise – 6 days a week at the time, so it was odd that no matter how good I ate & how much I worked out, my belly came back.
After moving back home with my parents last spring, I started to get a little thicker around the mid-line and it got to the point where none of my pants fit, but I refused to buy new ones because I knew my diet & lack of exercise was the cause.
Fast forward to this past June of 2018 when I discovered the Keto diet. It actually seemed really simple and easy for someone like me – a single mom of 3 & biz owner with very little “me time”.
I decided to give it a try and slowly start to make changes in my diet. It took me a little longer because I would eliminate one item that I loved and introduce a new Keto item.
In August, I put on a pair of work pants & noticed they were big, I jumped on the scale just for fun and to my shock I am now THINNER than I was before my first pregnancy 11 years ago.
The funniest part is, that I was able to do this just with foods! I’m just starting to get back into exercising now, but I dropped all that weight and have more energy, my skin is lightening up and clearing up and foods that used to make me breakout are no longer affecting my skin!
Now it’s your turn…
Coming from an esthetician point of view and noticing the increases in problem skin over the last 15 years has become why I’m so passionate about eating healthy and eating correctly.
I always knew that eating well resulted in great skin, but it wasn’t until my journey to changing my lifestyle this summer and watching my melasma lighten up and no longer suffer breakouts from certain foods has been absolutely amazing.
My gift to you is that you start doing some research on your own skin!
You DESERVE to put the right foods in your body so you feel amazing on the inside and end up looking beautiful on the outside.
It’s so scary because the foods we think or believe to be healthy are still harming us.
Our meats are full of medicines, corn & soy which are highly inflammatory. We are consuming these foods on a daily basis and we end up getting sick because of this.
Today’s blog is to help open your eyes to make some simple changes and do your research so you can make some healthy changes to help you and your family.
What changes are you ready to make?

Samantha
