Happy April 1st!
I love this time of year because we know that days are longer, the weather is finally breaking and we are seeing signs of flowers popping up and the trees are budding.
This time of year also means that it’s time to reassess your skin and get your home care ready for the upcoming warmer months ahead.
I know it may seem odd to start buying your summer skin care now when the weather is still 40 degrees, but before we know it, those 70 & 80 degree days will be here and our heavy, winter products will be making us break out.
April is the perfect time to get a head start on your summer skin!
Schedule your facial to remove all that dead skin cell build up from the cold, dry days that are quickly passing.
Getting a good facial this time of year helps me understand your skin and how we can create a great home care plan for the summer months.
Having the right home care for the summer means less breakouts, clearer skin, minimal blackheads or clogged pores and a more even skin tone.
Who wouldn’t want that all summer long?
Why would you want to switch your home care products?
To start, living in Chicago means we have completely different weather in summer vs. winter. Our winters are so dry and lack humidity, whereas our summers are hot and humid.
Let’s think about this…
If you were to use your heavy winter moisturizer that helps your skin stay hydrated all winter in the summer, that would be so heavy on your skin, not only would you be breaking out, but your skin would feel greasy.
As a licensed professional, I can customize your home care so you will be using products that work correctly for your skin each season of the year.
What products are normally switched?
Cleansers and moisturizers are the biggest products I swap out. But we also adjust your facial oil and serums because some serums are my hydrating than others. While some clients need more Vitamin C to combat the signs of uneven skin tone when spending hours outdoors with the kids or at a beach or pool.
Everyone’s skins’ needs are different and everyone’s skin concerns need to be addressed the best way possible. Tuning into your skin and knowing exactly what you need moving into the summer months will give your skin the clarity you are looking for.
Who’s ready to jump on the summer skin wagon with me?
