How many of you realize that a shift in our mindset is all that it can take to achieve our goals for the year?
We are amazing! We can achieve absolutely anything we desire in this life, yet very few of us ever will.
Why is that?
Last night a friend & I were out for dinner. The waitress was interested in hearing about the Keto lifestyle because what she thought she knew about it was totally wrong.
As we were talking to her, she kept admitting that she’s the one holding herself back. She was doing so many things right, but all it can take is that little shift in the mind and she will be able to stick to something.
Let me ask you another question…
How many of you are sick & tired of feeling or looking a certain way? What about having bad habits that you want to kick?
You complain about it all the time & think about it everyday, most of the times every time you look in the mirror or get dressed.
What are you really doing about it? Are you TRYING something? Or are you just complaining & hoping it goes away one day?
Then one day you are so fed up & you decide that “This is it!” you change everything and commit to something you thought you never would.
What are the end results? Happiness! Feeling better! More confidence! etc…
Why are most of us not getting to that point?
I’m just as guilty as all of you. I have my own goals that I set and “hope” to achieve them, but then get frustrated that the little efforts I put in didn’t give me the results I wanted.
Here’s the problem…I didn’t DECIDE! I just wanted & did some small efforts towards that goal.
NOTHING! My life is still the same as it was before I set that goal.
Have I grown? Yes, but have I achieved everything I set out to? NO
We get caught up in life or find ways to make excuses to go back to a life that’s comfortable and easy.
Change is really, really hard.
Take it from me. The girl who packed up 3 kids & moved to Texas for a better life.
When I look back on that journey, I learned a LOT. Most people look at that situation as a complete failure, because I went broke & had to move back and into my parents house.
Is it an ideal situation? No, but I’m extremely grateful for my parents and extremely grateful to have a roof over my head while I get my shit together.
What did I learn?
I didn’t decide when I was in Texas to live that life I dreamed about. I lived a life from a place of fear. I feared being alone. I feared not making enough money to pay all my bills. I feared not being a success. I feared being a single mom. I feared not being able to stay in a place where I wanted to give my kids a better life.
And guess what, that reality came true because I was stuck in that belief that I was failing.
What ended up happening was that moving back was the BEST things I ever did! My business was growing the entire time I was in Texas because I was flying back every 6 weeks to take clients. Each time I was booking new clients & my business kept on growing.
I had a business to come back to & re-launched in June of 2017 and never looked back. It’s still growing & expanding today. Had I never made the move to Texas, I wouldn’t be in the beautiful space I’m in today.
Had I never made the move to Texas, I wouldn’t have learned about fear and about myself in order to achieve my goals.
Had I never made the move to Texas, I wouldn’t be sitting here today helping you realize that it takes a shift in your mind to achieve anything you want in life.
How can you achieve your 2019 goals?
The first thing you need to do is pull out your journal and write.
It’s that simple. The act of journaling is powerful! I have 6 journals that I keep around my house, in my purse, at work, in the car for whenever I have thoughts that need writing down OR I’m feeling so frustrated that I can’t stand it. Writing gives me the release & clarity I’m searching for in that moment.
If you’ve never done journaling, I ask that you start. Buy yourself a notebook or cute journal & commit to writing 1 page a day. Take 10 minutes either first thing in the morning or right before bed & write down everything that comes to mind. Just write, don’t worry about spelling or how well you’re writing. Just get all your thoughts down on paper.
I don’t go back & read what I wrote, but some people like to do that. Personally, getting thoughts off my chest is enough for me. Sometimes when I finish a journal, I’ll go back & read stuff and it’s amazing to see how far you’ve come.
Journaling helps you find clarity during times of confusion. We all have ideas about what we want our life to look like, but what is your mission in life? We all have one and we are all here to share our special gifts with this world. Can you find yours?
I know my gift is skin care & my ability to empower & educate women to take control of their skin correctly.
My big goal for 2019 is to take that ability & share it with the world via social media. My goal is to become an influencer and be known for my skin care knowledge.
I love helping people achieve clear, beautiful skin! Not only because it’s my job, but because giving someone the gift of clear, beautiful skin boosts their confidence.
Boosting your confidence means that YOU are now able to give yourself a better life because you feel good on the inside. It snowballs and means that this journey for you to achieve clear skin taught you that you have a passion deep down inside you that you plan on sharing with the world. Now you can, and you will.
Then it will be your turn to sit here & blog about your journey and all the struggles and failures that brought you to where you are at that moment. The ways you found clarity in your life. How you achieved clear skin to boost your confidence and that led you to find your life’s work.
Together we can all change the world!
My mission is to change lives, one face at a time.
